About me

Hello, friends! My name’s Chad Smith, and I am a drummer. I started playing drums at the age of 8, and since then I have never parted with my favorite music instrument.

The first time I tried playing drums, I fell in love immediately. I was born and raised in a family of musicians. My mom is a professional violin player, and she has been working in a local orchestra all her life. My father is a professional singer and has led a vocal club at my school, so there was no other way for me. I grew up listening to Queen, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and the Beatles. Soon after joining the singing club, I realized that I’m not much of a singer. But I always did like drums, and my school buddies were more into playing than into singing. That’s how my first primary school rock band started.

I’ve played in rock bands throughout my whole life. Starting from school days till the last year of the University I’ve been a member of more than five groups. Back in those days, it was fun. Now I’m following my dads’ experience: I also run a music club at a local school and teach kids playing drums.
